How do I book?

Tours will only run when someone has booked onto one. To book a tour, contact me through the contact page with your preferred tour, date and time. I will get back to you as soon as possible with availability. Once I have confirmed your tour, please then book through the website to secure your place.

What will a running tour involve?

Discover Dundee Running Tours will take you on a guided route through the city or countryside. I will take you to places you can’t get to by car, and we will explore some places that only the locals will know about. There will be stops along the way for us to look at the sights, and I will tell you stories about the history of the area, or exciting events and things that are happening now. Dundee is a buzzing place to be, and there is lots to take in.

I will be happy to show you places to visit after your tour, or places to eat and drink in the city. I can also recommend other activities to do while you are staying in Dundee.

Along the way, I will take plenty of photographs to help you remember your run. These will be posted to social media after the run, but if you would rather these weren’t shared, then that is completely up to you.

For our special food and drinks tours, we will go on a guided run first, finishing at our venue to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.

What should I bring?

Please arrive dressed to run. Wear running shoes for all tours. Trail shoes may be more appropriate for our trail runs. We will not have anywhere to store belongings, so please only take what you can carry to run with you. We are running in Scotland, and Dundee has a great climate, but do consider the weather and take an extra layer if running on a colder day.

You may want to bring some water with you, depending on length of the tour and the weather. You could also bring a camera, although I will take lots of photos for you along the way too.

What pace will it be?

The runs are set to a social pace. These are not meant to be training runs, and I will make sure everyone stays together. There are also plenty of stops along the way to catch your breath.

When signing up for a tour, please be capable of running the distance of the tour, even if just a jog. If you are looking for a walking tour, there are other companies in Dundee who offer these. If you are unsure of your ability and want some advice, please contact me.

Will there be toilets?

For our tours in the city centre, we will be close to toilet facilities. However, for trail runs, these may not be available, so please consider this before starting the run.

Where do the tours start?

Tours will start at different venues depending on the tour. Please check out the relevant tour pages for more details.

I can arrange to meet you from your hotel or B&B so please get in touch if you require this.

Will it be cancelled for bad weather?

I will run in all weather. We live in Scotland, and sometimes you have to put up with a bit of rain or wind. Thankfully, Dundee has a lovely south-facing inland setting, and we are blessed with a high level of sunshine for Scotland.

However, if the weather is particularly inclement, and it may be unsafe to run, I may cancel the tour. If this happens, I will give you as much notice as possible, and will refund you or offer you a tour on another date that suits.

If you decide that you do not want to run due to the weather, this will be subject to the cancellation policy.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. I am only able to take over 16s on the running tours.
